Website

Wolfjay.com is hosted and built on Squarespace. All domain names are registered with Hover.com.  The template is 'York', but everything has been tweaked with lots of custom CSS. Inspect to see more. All code is written in Atom and FTP'd into the site with Transmit by Panic.

By the end of 2018 I'd love to be running a fully custom Jekyll site with ecommerce in place of the Squarespace site. The layout engine on Squarespace is just too limiting to make great responsive sites.

Design & Video

All of my designs are made in Sketch by Bohemian Coding. Photos are edited in Adobe Lightroom with VSCO presets, but are always extensively tweaked from there. I currently don't own a camera aside from the iPhone X, but if I had to get one I'd probably cop the Fujifilm XT-2 with a 23mm f/2. I use Photoshop only to prepare assets for use in Sketch, and stay away from it as much as possible. I use InDesign to convert layouts from Sketch into printable spreads. I should really cancel my Adobe CC membership...

I use Final Cut Pro X for simple video editing, and Timult's Hype for basic animated pieces.

On mobile I use Pixelmator to create assets for my Instagram stories, and Spark for video editing.

Music

I write and produce all of my music in Logic Pro X running on a mid-2017 base model 13" MacBook Pro with a 256gb SSD and 16gb of RAM. Midi input is handled primarily by musical typing or just drawing in the midi notes individually. I use either a Focusrite 18i20 or an Apogee Duet 2 for tracking and monitoring. Vocals are mostly tracked on a Shure SM57.

Plugins:

  • Waves Gold
  • Soundtoys
  • Valhalla Shimmer
  • Serum (though I hate how much of a drain it is on resources).

By the end of the year I'd like to move to a mostly hardware synth setup, so that my writing and production process can be easier adapted to live performance.
